PHILADELPHIA – Saint Louis senior guard Davell Roby hit a free throw with 3.1 seconds remaining to lift the Billikens to a 60-59 Atlantic 10 Conference victory over Saint Joseph's on Wednesday night.

It was the second road win in a row for Saint Louis, which improves to 12-11 and 5-5 in the A-10. The Billikens have now won four of their last five. Saint Joseph's dips to 9-12 and 4-5 in the A-10.

Sophomore forward Jalen Johnson and senior guard Aaron Hines led the Billikens with 11 points apiece. Roby added 10 points, and freshman forward Hasahn French finished a rebound shy of a double-double with 10 points and nine boards. D.J. Foreman chipped in nine points, including an emphatic first-half dunk off a fast-break feed by French.

Saint Louis built a 13-point lead late in the first half before the Hawks went on a 13-0 run to pull even in the final minute off the half. The Billikens ended up going into halftime with a three-point lead at 30-27.

The second half featured four lead changed and five ties, but the Hawks never led by more than one.

After SJU went up 51-50 with 3:38 left, Johnson and Hines connected on 3-pointers to keep the Billikens on top.

Saint Joseph's Shavar Newkirk went 1-2 from the stripe with 13 seconds left to tie the score at 59-all. On the ensuing possession, Roby was fouled and sent to the line with three seconds remaining. He missed the first, but put home the second, and Saint Joseph's never managed to get a shot off after the inbound.

The Billikens host Fordham on Saturday night at Chaifetz Arena. Game time is 7 p.m., and it will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest Plus.
