ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis track and field is set for the 2018 Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, which will be held Saturday and Sunday at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island.
Saturday's action begins at 8 a.m. (CT) with the Heptathlon and Pentathlon. The running events begin Saturday at 1 p.m. (CT). On Sunday, the field events begin at 8 a.m. (CT), followed by the running events at 11:15 a.m. (CT). The final event, the 4x400-meter relay, gets underway Sunday at approximately 1:55 p.m. (CT).
Manuel de Backer, who won the A-10 Cross Country Championship in the fall, is atop the A-10 performance list in the 5,000 meters. He will run in the event at approximately 4:45 p.m. (CT) on Saturday. In addition, he has posted the A-10's third-fastest time in the 3,000 meters. That event is set for Sunday at 12:35 p.m. (CT).
Several Billikens have captured A-10 weekly honors this season. Freshman Alex Oleson was the Men's Field Performer of the Week two weeks in a row in December, while freshman Katie Wissing was the Women's Rookie of the Week after opening weekend.
The following week, Aaron Dugan was named Men's co-Track Performer of the Week.
