SAINT LOUIS – Saint Louis Billiken Volleyball announced its summer camp schedule on Tuesday as the program’s Spring season gets into full swing. The camps are slated to run the weeks of July 9 and July 16, 2018.

The camps will be instructed by Coach Kent Miller, who just wrapped-up his seventh season at the helm of Billiken Volleyball, and by assistant coaches Matt Huskey and Maureen Nesbit.

Current and former Billiken volleyball players will assist the coaching staff as camp coaches, along with other collegiate players and coaches. All camps will be held at the Chaifetz Pavilion, home of Saint Louis Volleyball.

"Our camps are unique in that they provide the beginning player with a sound foundation, yet they also challenge the higher-level players, helping them improve with advanced technical and tactical training," Miller stated about the philosophy of his camps. "We work really hard to ensure that each player is challenged at the appropriate level to allow them to improve as much as possible."

The Individual Camps feature sessions running on July 10-12 and July 16-18. This camp will focus on all-around improvement of skills and will feature six-on-six team play. Both sessions will run from 9:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. each day.

The Libero/Defensive Specialist Camp focuses on defense and passing, but also includes serving, out of system setting and the tactical components of the Libero position. It will be held on July 13 from 9:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m. for players entering grades 9-12.

Two-hour mini-camps focused on hitting, blocking, serving, setting and passing will be held throughout the same two weeks as individual camps. These mini-camps focus exclusively on one skill and augment training received in Individual Camp. They also serve well as stand-alone training sessions. Again in the summer of 2018, high school only mini-camps are available to allow more advanced training targeted to experienced players.
