BILLIKEN OUTLOOK

After winning 15 in a row, the Billikens have dropped two of their last four and are looking to start a new streak over the weekend. Saint Louis dropped a midweek game against Southeast Missouri State on Wednesday and are looking to rebound with Miller Hogan toeing the rubber on Friday. Hogan is 4-1 in his last five starts.

Saint Louis is tied for the lead in the Atlantic 10 heading into the weekend action with a 5-1 record. The Billikens’ lone loss came at the hands of VCU last weekend in a 4-2 loss, one of two setbacks by the same score over the last week.

Cole Dubet led the team over the weekend with a .444 average against the Rams, but for the season, sophomore Jake Garella has been the top hitter in the Billiken lineup. The former Edwardsville High School Tiger is hitting .333 for the season in a team-leading 105 at-bats heading into the weekend.

The Billikens boast a Top 25 pitching staff with a 3.15 ERA in 2018 heading into weekend play. Saint Louis is ranked No. 25 in the country in team ERA.

SCOUTING THE MINUTEMEN

The Minutemen enter the weekend in the midst of a three-game losing skid after a tough 10-8 loss to Northeastern on Tuesday.

Shortstop Ryan Lever leads the team with a .320 batting average in 2018. The junior is also a perfect 3-3 in stolen base attempts this season.

Justin Lasko, who is expected to get the ball on Friday, is 2-1 and boasts a 1.91 ERA in five starts this season. The right-handed pitcher has allowed just six earned runs this season, but opponents are hitting .273 against him.
