Billiken Sports Center, Saint Louis, Mo.

Wednesday, 4/11 – 6:00pm CDT

SLU: LHP Aaron Patton (0-0), BRAD: RHP Mitch Janssen (2-0)

After clean sweep of UMass over the weekend, Saint Louis has started a new winning streak after a 4-2 midweek loss to Southeast Missouri State last week. Drew Reveno and Jackson Wark picked-up their Atlantic 10-leading sixth wins of the season on Saturday and Sunday.

Saint Louis stands atop the A-10 standings this season with an 8-1 record as they have swept all but one series in the league this season. The Billiken bats were hot over the weekend once again against UMass as the team hit .276 and outscored their opponent 23-10. Carter Hanford, Nick Reeser and Aaron Case all hit over .400 in the three-game set.

The Billikens scored in the first inning in each of the last three games and are 9-2 on the year when they put-up runs in the first frame.

As a whole, Saint Louis has shown that when their bats are hot, they are difficult to beat. The team boasts a 17-1 record when scoring six or more runs in a game.

Nick Reeser has been the standout for the Billikens of late. Since March 2, the first baseman has just three games that he was held hitless. He leads the team with a .319 average in 2018.

The pitching staff for the Billikens has been outstanding in 2018. Since the shuffling of the staff to place Drew Reveno in the starting rotation, Saint Louis’ team ERA is 2.48.

On Monday, Miller Hogan became the third Billiken this season to earn weekly hardware from the Atlantic 10 as he was named Co-Pitcher of the Week. On Friday April 6, the junior tied a career-high with 11 strikeouts as he went seven innings to get his fifth win of the year.

The Braves have won four of their last five games entering play on Wednesday as they stand in second place in the Missouri Valley Conference.

Bradley is coming off a series win over Indiana State over the weekend, including a come-from-behind win over the Sycamores in Sunday’s 7-6 triumph.

The Braves feature five players hitting above the .300 mark on the year. Those five have led the team to a .302 batting average which ranks No. 14 in the nation. Brendan Dougherty, who is hitting an impressive .383, leads that group.

Pitching has been one of the few weak points for the Braves. The staff holds a 4.74 ERA in 2018 as only one pitcher whom has thrown at least 10 innings has a sub-2.00 ERA (Brian Schrimmer, 1.46)

Wednesday’s projected starter, right-handed pitcher Mitch Janssen is 2-0 going into play with an ERA of 6.57. Batters are hitting .299 off the junior this season.
