BILLIKEN OUTLOOK

The Billikens picked-up a series sweep over the weekend against the Explorers of La Salle. Saint Louis out-scored the team from Philly 31-2 over the course of the series as Alex King hit a home run in each game.

Saint Louis got back on track with the weekend series sweep and will look to grab a victory in the final meeting between the Redhawks and the Billikens in 2018.

Parker Sniatynski hit .500 over the course of last week with two home runs, seven walks and six RBI. Four of his seven hits in that span were for extra bases.

Miller Hogan, Jackson Wark and Drew Reveno all picked-up the win on the mound in their starts against La Salle. Wark is now ranked sixth in the nation in wins with eight while Hogan garnered A-10 Pitcher of the Week honors for his complete game shutout on Friday. The junior allowed just three hits and no walks as he recorded nine strikeouts in his outing.

The Billikens are averaging 6.58 runs per game this season and lead the Atlantic 10 in total runs, RBI, doubles and slugging percentage.

Saint Louis’ Charlie Sheehan has gotten the majority of weekday starts in 2018, but Connor Lehmann will get the start on Tuesday. The redshirt junior has been an impact arm out of the bullpen in 2018. Since his move from starter to reliever, Lehmann has a 2.40 ERA and has allowed just nine hits and four runs in 15 innings of work.

SCOUTING THE REDHAWKS

Southeast Missouri State became the giant killer on Sunday as they were the first team to get a win over No. 20 Tennessee Tech in 29 games. The Redhawks nearly grabbed a pair of wins, but came just short on Friday as they stranded the tying run at third in the top of the ninth with one run already home in the inning.

The Redhawks have gotten the better of the Billikens in 2018 and are 2-0 in the season series. The Southeast offense has been potent this season as the team enters Tuesday’s clash hitting .290 as a team. Trevor Ezell leads the club with a .406 average and a .567 slugging percentage.

In addition to Ezell, the team features four others hitting at or above .300 (Chase Urhahn, .356; Justin Dirden, .338; Tristen Gagan, .311; Danny Wright, .300).
