SAINT LOUIS – After a week where he led the Billikens hitting over .500, sophomore Jake Garella was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for his contributions at the plate for Saint Louis University Baseball.

Garella, the Edwardsville, Ill., native, hit .529 and slugged .647 on the week as the Billikens won two of the four games of the week.

The Billiken outfielder hit two doubles and four RBI as Saint Louis finished the week with 11 two-baggers and led the team with nine hits. He also recorded multiple hits in each game of the week.

Saint Louis salvaged its weekend series against Davidson with a dominant 11-3 victory on Sunday. With the win, the Billikens stayed 2.5 games up in the A-10 standings heading into the weekend series with St. Bonaventure in Olean, N.Y.
