BILLIKEN OUTLOOK

Saint Louis took its first series loss of the season over the weekend against Davidson, but after losses on Friday and Saturday, the Billikens rebounded for an 11-3 victory on Sunday. Drew Reveno picked-up his eighth win of the season in the effort.

After having a monster week at the plate, Jake Garella earned his first Atlantic 10 Player of the Week nod on Monday. The sophomore hit .529 on the week and had at least two hits in each of the four games.

Though Saint Louis dropped two over the weekend, the team still sits 2.5 games ahead of the field entering the final two weeks of the season. A series sweep and some help could clinch a regular season title for the Billikens and more importantly, the No. 1 seed in the Atlantic 10 Championship later this month.

Connor Lehmann has been one of the best pitchers on the staff this season and has quietly become one of the keys to success for the Billikens moving forward. The redshirt junior tossed a no-hitter through six innings against a hot Southeast Missouri State team and earned a win, and a save in the Davidson series. Lehmann provides a fourth option as a starter.

SCOUTING THE BONNIES

The Bonnies enter the weekend on a five-game losing streak and have dropped seven of their last eight. The 9-28 record, however, may be deceiving. Among their losses, nine have come by just one run showing that they should not be taken lightly.

St. Bonaventure features two players hitting above .300, similar to Saint Louis. Mike Magnanti, the 5’7” junior second baseman leads the team with a .328 average. Ryan MacCarrick has a .317 average with six stolen bases.

Casey Vincent, who is scheduled for game two of Friday’s double-dip, is 4-2 on the year and features a 2.76 ERA, a top 10 ERA in the Atlantic 10 this season.
