ST. LOUIS -- Coming off a 15-win campaign and a second-place finish in the Atlantic 10 Conference regular-season race in 2017, the Saint Louis University women’s soccer team reports to preseason training camp Tuesday, July 31.

The Billikens’ 26 players – six seniors, six juniors, eight sophomores and six freshmen – assemble Tuesday for meetings. The team holds its first training session Wednesday.

SLU returns 10 starters and 10 additional players from its 2017 squad that posted records of 15-3-2 overall and 7-2-1 in the A-10. Leading the returning starters is junior defender Alli Klug, a third-team All-American and first-team All-Region and All-Conference selection.

Other returnees who earned 2017 postseason honors are redshirt-senior goalkeeper Mary Niehaus (first-team All-Region, first-team All-Conference); sophomore midfielder/defender Olivia Petit (first-team All-Region, first-team All-Conference, A-10 Rookie of the Year); senior forward Maddie Pokorny (second-team All-Conference); junior forward/midfielder Evie Lavelle (second-team All-Conference); junior midfielder Courtney Reimer (second-team All-Conference); and sophomore defender Brionna Halverson (A-10 All-Rookie team).

The Billikens’ first game action is Friday, Aug. 10, in an exhibition at Western Kentucky. SLU also is on the road for its first two regular-season games – Aug. 17 vs. Kansas State and Aug. 19 vs. Kansas City – before hosting Arkansas State Aug. 24 and SIUE Aug. 26 in the first two of 10 home matches.

Also on the home schedule are Oral Roberts (Sept. 7), Missouri State (Sept. 9), Evansville (Sept. 16), Davidson (Sept. 23), Rhode Island (Sept. 27), Duquesne (Oct. 7), Fordham (Oct. 11) and George Washington (Oct. 21). The 2017 Billikens were 7-1-2 at Robert R. Hermann Stadium.
