NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Saint Louis' women's cross country team turned in a second-place finish at the Joe Piane Invitational at Notre Dame on Friday. Additionally, the men's team placed sixth as senior Manuel de Backer earned runner-up honors.

Courtney Link led the Billikens' women's squad with a 14th-place finish with a 5K time of 17:52.87. Megan Kress and Anna Schmitz also posted top-20 finishes.

De Backer placed second in the men's five-mile with a time of 24:32.59. Ben Naeger joined de Backer in the top 10 after finishing 10th overall with a time of 24:52.39.
