-- Saint Louis continues Atlantic 10 Conference play Saturday night when the La Salle Explorers visit Robert R. Hermann Stadium for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
-- Saint Louis is 3-2-4 and 0-1-1 in A-10 play. The Billikens had their six-game unbeaten streak snapped on Wednesday night in a 3-1 loss at Rhode Island.
-- Junior Leo Novaes has registered at least one point in four straight matches and leads the Billikens with 11 points (4G, 3A).
-- Senior Anthony Brown is tied with Novaes for the team scoring lead with four goals. Brown also has two assists and is second on the team with 10 points.
-- Junior Devin Boyce contributes seven points (2G, 3A), while freshman John Klein has six points (3G). Sophomore Ben Huels and senior Eric Davies have also scored for the Billikens, who have outscored their opponents 15-12 on the year.
-- The Billikens have outshot their opponents in every game this season and own a 146-67 shot advantage over the course of the year. Saint Louis has twice as many corner kicks as its opponents (46-23) as well.
BILLIKENS TO HOST A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP
-- Saint Louis University and Robert R. Hermann Stadium will serve as the host of the 2018 Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Soccer Championship in November.
-- The top eight teams in the league qualify for the tournament. The quarterfinal matchups will take place on campus sites either Nov. 3 or Nov. 4. Should SLU host a quarterfinal game, it would be played at Hermann Stadium on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m.
-- The A-10 semifinals take place Friday, Nov. 9, at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. The A-10 final will be played Sunday, Nov. 11.
KALISH IN FIRST YEAR AS BILLIKENS’ HEAD COACH
-- Kevin Kalish, a Saint Louis University alumnus and Billiken All-American, was announced as the Billikens’ head coach in January 2018.
-- The seventh head coach in the storied history of the SLU men’s soccer program, Kalish previously served as Vice President and Missouri Boys Club Director for St. Louis Scott Gallagher. He also was head coach at SIU Edwardsville for six seasons (2008-13).
-- Kalish was a member of Saint Louis University’s 1997 NCAA semifinal team and was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year and an NSCAA All-American his senior season in 1998. He earned Academic All-America honors in 1997 and 1998.
-- In 2007, Kalish was inducted into the Billiken Hall of Fame. He was named to the Billiken Half-Century Team in 2009 during the celebration of 50 years of Saint Louis University soccer.
-- Kalish is 3-2-4 in his first year at SLU, and 52-48-16 in seven seasons overall as a collegiate head coach.
SCOUTING LA SALLE
-- The Explorers enter Saturday's game 2-7-1 overall and 0-1-1 in A-10 play.
-- La Salle began A-10 play with a 2-0 loss against VCU in Philadelphia. In the Explorers’ last outing, they played to a 2-2 draw at Saint Joseph’s.
-- Soji Olatoye leads the team with four goals. He is the only Explorer to post multiple goals this season.
-- Cameron Keys has played the majority of minutes in goal. He is 2-6-1 with a 1.73 goals against average.
-- Head coach Rob Irvine is in his third season at La Salle. He came to the Explorers after spending eight seasons as an assistant coach at Penn and two seasons as the head coach at Kean University.
