ST. LOUIS -- Saint Louis senior forward Maddie Pokorny has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week following her performance at last week’s Atlantic 10 Championship.

Pokorny scored four goals in the tournament, including a hat trick in the championship game to help the Billikens defeat VCU 5-1. She was selected the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.

Pokorny is enjoying her best season as a Billiken. She has a team- and career-high 12 goals, 11 of which were scored against A-10 opponents in either the regular season or conference tournament. Pokorny is just one goal shy of SLU’s single-season record.

The Billikens (18-3-1), whose 14-game winning streak is the longest active streak in NCAA Division I women’s soccer, take on Kansas in an NCAA Championship first-round game Friday, Nov. 9. Kickoff in Lawrence, Kansas, is slated for 7 p.m.
