|Position:||Graduate Assistant Coach|
Gavin Hagar started swimming competitively at the age of five in Omaha, Neb., and he achieved AAA and sectional times throughout his career as a 14 and under.
Hagar attended Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, Neb. where he was part of the State Championship swim team all 4 years. From that, he earned an athletic scholarship to attend Saint Louis University where he swam for coach Jim Halliburton through his senior year. Throughout Hagar's time as a swimmer and a coach, he's achieved countless personal goals and more importantly, made relationships that will last a lifetime.
2019-20 will be his 21 year in the sport of swimming, fifth year of coaching at the club level for the local Parkway Swim Club and second year assisting coach Halliburton at SLU. As a coach, Hagar prioritizes the detail of stroke-technique and his relationships with the swimmers by maintaining an open and honest dialogue. Having experienced the SLU swim program himself, he shares in the athletic department’s mission to better the student-athletes as men and women, thus, allowing them to succeed both in and out of the pool.
