Saint Louis was able to get back in the win column in Tuesday’s victory over SEMO, bringing their record to 13-18 (2-4 in the A-10) in 2019. The Billikens achieved season-highs of 15 hits and 15 runs against the RedHawks.
The team leader in strikeouts, Connor Lehmann, will get the nod for game one. He’s 2-4 on the season with a 3.48 ERA. Lehmann has struck out 50 batters in 41.1 innings pitched.
Cody Luther will get the start for another Saturday contest. The senior is 4-2 with a 2.76 ERA. It will mark the ninth start of the year for the right-hander who has 44 strikeouts in 45.2 innings.
RHP Jackson Wark will start the series finale for the Billikens. He’s 1-2 in 2019, but his 2.10 ERA is first on the team amongst starters. Wark will be making his fifth start of the year, twelfth overall appearance, against the Bonnies. In 30.0 innings, he’s struck out 34 opposing hitters.
Kevin Jordan tied the team lead in RBIs against SEMO, raising his season total to 21. The shortstop went 4-5 with a HR, triple, two singles, four RBIs and three runs scored. It was the second time this season he has had at least four RBIs in a game, and it was the first time a Billiken had four hits in a game in 2019.
Freshman Cam Redding continues to lead the team in hitting, batting for a .329 average, including three doubles, one triple and 15 RBIs.
Corrigan Bartlett is riding a 26-game on-base streak. He’s recorded a hit or walk in all but one game for the Billikens this season, and he has hit safely in 19 of the team’s last 21 games. Bartlett is batting .306 with eight doubles, 21 runs scored and 17 RBIs.
SCOUTING THE BONNIES
St. Bonaventure enters game number 25 on Friday with a 7-17 record, 3-6 in Atlantic 10 play.
RHP Braydon Nelson earns start number seven in the series opener, where he carries a 1-2 record with a 6.19 ERA. The sophomore has a team-leading 37 strikeouts in 36.1 innings pitched.
Tyler Germanowski gets the start on the mound in game two for the Bonnies. He’s 0-3 on the year with a 7.24 ERA. The red-shirt freshman has struck out 35 opposing hitters in 27.1 innings.
Four St. Bonaventure hitters are batting for better than .300 clip, including Sam Fuller who is hitting a team-leading .368. The senior outfielder has five doubles, five triples, one home run and 19 runs scored.
Sophomore infielder Tyler Kelder is batting .314 and has a team-leading five home runs and 23 RBIs on the year.
Brandon Henshaw is also hitting .314, and he has six doubles, two triples and two home runs. His 32 hits rank second on the team.
The Billikens are on a four-game winning streak and are 20-11 all-time against the Bonnies.
