Saint Louis took the rubber match with Fordham 4-1 on Friday morning, bringing their A-10 record to 6-6 on the year.
Cody Luther was dominant, yet again, on the mound for the Billikens, throwing 8.0 innings, allowing one run on four hits and tying a career-high with 11 strikeouts. Coming off of a no-hitter last Saturday, Luther surrendered his first hit in 41 batters faced in the third inning against the Rams. He improved his 2019 record to 6-2.
Ryan Lefner recorded his second save of the series and third on the season on Friday, increasing his SLU record to 24 career saves. He struck out two batters in his one inning of work.
Seven of the nine SLU starters recorded a hit in the victory, including Braxton Stowe going 2-4 with an RBI.
Cam Redding and Cole Dubet both smacked doubles on the day. Redding finished 1-3 with a run scored and a walk. Dubet went 1-4 with an RBI.
The Billikens come back to St. Louis for a mid-week contest with Murray State on Wednesday at 5 p.m. CT.
