Cole Dubet has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week and Connor Lehmann has been deemed Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday. It’s the second consecutive week a Billiken has earned the Player of the Week award, with Jake Garella taking home the hardware on May 6.
In three games against George Mason this past week, Dubet went 10-15 (.667) with two home runs, three doubles, 10 RBIs and seven runs scored. He had 19 total bases in the series against the Patriots.
On his senior day on Sunday, Dubet tied a school single-game record with five hits. He finished the afternoon 5-5 with two home runs, five RBIs and four runs scored. The four-year starter was pulled in the top of the eighth inning to get his recognition from the SLU faithful in his last game at the Billiken Sports Center.
Connor Lehmann tossed a 7.0 inning gem against the Patriots on Friday night, earning the 3-0 victory. He scattered just six hits and tied a career-high with 12 strikeouts.
Lehmann improved to 3-1 with a 3.03 ERA in conference play this season. He’s struck out a team-leading 51 batters in 38.2 innings pitched in those games.
