ST. LOUIS – Four Saint Louis Billikens were honored on the Atlantic 10 Conference’s Outdoor Track and Field All-Academic teams, the league announced.
Tannock Blair, Brett Kowalczyk and Ben Naeger were honored from the men’s team. Megan Kress picked up an All-Academic nod on the women’s side.
Blair, who graduated in May with a Bachelor’s of Science in English, earns his second All-Academic award after earning the recognition following the indoor season. He ran a leg on the Billikens’ 4x800-meter relay team that finished sixth at the A-10 meet. Additionally, he placed third in the 800 meters at the Billiken Invitational earlier this year.
Kowalczyk graduated in May with a Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience. This is his fourth All-Academic honor from the league, having won it during the outdoor season each year he was eligible as well as the indoor season earlier this year. Kowalczyk had a pair of top-10 finishes at the A-10 Championships, placing eighth in the hammer throw and ninth in the shot put.
Naeger, a Music major, earns his first A-10 All-Academic honor. He had an impressive A-10 Championships, capturing the silver medal in the 10,000 meters with a PR in the event. Naeger followed up that performance with a sixth-place finish in the 5,000 meters.
Kress is a Biology major. At the SLUSPYs earlier this year, she earned the Top Female Academic Performance Award, given to the student-athlete at SLU with the highest GPA with at least four semesters completed. Kress placed seventh in the 10,000 meters at the A-10 Championships. Earlier this year at the Billiken Invitational, she won the 5,000 meters after posting a PR in the event.
