Atlantic 10 volleyball coaches have selected Saint Louis to finish third in the 2019 conference race, the league announced Tuesday.
The Billikens, who finished sixth in the 2018 A-10 standings, received 71 points. Dayton (98 points) was tabbed with eight first place votes and was chosen to win the conference title, while VCU (92) was the coaches’ No. 2 pick.
La Salle (63) and George Washington (52) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the balloting. Duquesne (51) was sixth, followed by George Mason (48), Davidson (30), Fordham (28) and Rhode Island (21).
Saint Louis, returning six starters from the 2018 team, opens the season Friday and Saturday, Aug. 30-31, in their annual Marcia E. Hamilton Classic. The Billikens play Middle Tennessee State, Southern Illinois and Portland State.
