Saint Louis head women’s basketball coach Lisa Stone will serve as a guest speaker at the USA Basketball Coach Academy Sept. 28-29 in Washington, D.C.
“It is a great honor and pleasure to be invited to partake in the USA Youth Development program later this month,” Stone said. “I have had the privilege of speaking for and coaching a USA team in the past, and I am thrilled to be involved with them again.”
The program’s goal is to provide valuable insight and education to basketball coaches and administrators. Since the academy launched in 2015, it has administered sessions that impart the USA Basketball curriculum for a proper skill development path to teach the game to children of all ages and ability levels.
“I am a huge proponent of youth development and assisting coaches in advancing their craft,” Stone said. “If I am able to give back to the profession I have been involved with for 34 years, I will do it every time, and I thank USA Basketball for allowing me the opportunity to do so.”
Guest speakers will present basketball and leadership expertise topics that can be applied on and off the court.
Additional noted presenters include David Adkins (Washington Wizards assistant coach), Stan Van Gundy (NBA analyst), Jay Demings (USA Basketball Youth and Sport Development director) and Kevin Eastman (motivational speaker and former NBA coach).
