A LOOK AT THE BILLIKENS

• Saint Louis enters its fourth weekend of regular-season play this Friday and Saturday by playing in the Marquette Invitational in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

• Following winning two-of-three in last weekend’s Billiken Invitational, the Billikens lost a five-set heartbreaker to Southeast Missouri State on Tuesday, bringing their record to 6-4 on the season.

• Senior OH Sien Gallop had a match-high 24 kills with a .358 attack percentage, while also recording three service aces, eight digs and a solo block against the Redhawks.

• Junior OH Maya Taylor leads the Billikens and the Atlantic 10 Conference with 170 kills (4.36 per set).

• Junior S Kennedy Cordia has recorded 383 assists in 2019, bringing her career total to 1,954, 46 away from the 2,000 assist milestone.

• Gallop leads the Billikens in digs with 123, while also ranking second in kills (110).

• Sophomore Sara Daniels has collected 43 total blocks on the season, 1.10 per set.

A LOOK AT THIS WEEKEND’S OPPONENTS

• Northern Iowa enters the weekend tournament with a 4-7 record on the season. The Panthers have wins over Liberty, Texas State, Missouri - Kansas City and Austin Peay. Senior OH Karlie Taylor ranks second in the nation with 542 attack attempts and with 210 kills.  

• Ranked No. 8 in the country, according to NCAA.com, Marquette will be the first ranked opponent SLU will play since taking on No. 21 Ohio State on Aug. 25, 2017. The Billikens last win over a ranked opponent was on Sept. 19, 2014, against No. 11 Purdue. Allie Barber leads the way for the Golden Eagles, recording 168 kills (4.67 per set) in 2019.

• Green Bay goes to the tournament with a 7-2 record, including wins over Ohio State and Duquesne. Junior Taylor Wolf has recorded 153 kills on the season, 4.50 per set. Senior Maddie Yoss has collected 358 assists in 2019, and her 10.53 assists per set ranks top 50 in the country.
