O'FALLON, Ill. - Saint Louis women's tennis earned its 10th victory of the season Monday, defeating UMKC 7-0 at St. Clair Indoor Tennis Club.
The Billikens (10-4) took a 1-0 lead with three convincing doubles wins. Hailee Elmore and Casey Miller topped Eva Dalvai and Chelsea Horner 8-4 at No. 1, while Jenny Nalepa and Kasia Tomalak beat Laura Bouet and Suzan Lisenby by the same score at No. 2. Stephanie Hollis and Mia Elmore were 8-3 winners over Gabriela Pintos and Jessica Ball at No. 3.
Saint Louis won all six singles matches in straight sets. No. 1 Hailee Elmore and No. 2 Miller posted identical 6-1, 6-3 triumphs over Dalvai and Bouet, respectively. Nalepa ousted Horner 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3, while Tomalak breezed past Lisenby 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4. Caitlin McKenna posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Ball at No. 6.
"Everyone turned in a solid performance today," assistant coach Adam Reeb said. "We're playing well, and we're looking forward to our match against Xavier later this week."
The Billikens and Musketeers square off Friday, April 1, at Dwight Davis Tennis Center. First serve is set for 4:30 p.m.
