Saint Louis closed out their weekend in the Westin Lake Mary Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla. with a 7-6 win over Georgetown on Sunday.
The Billikens mounted a furious comeback in the ninth inning in order to send the game into extra innings. They found themselves trailing 6-2 entering the final frame, but an eventual two-out, three RBI double from Scott Youngbrandt tied the contest at six.
A Jake Garella hit by pitch, followed by a Ben Livorsi walk brought Shane Benes to the plate with two men on in the tenth inning. Benes singled to the left side, brining home Garella for the victory.
Winning pitcher, Jackson Wark relieved Connor Lehmann in the sixth inning, and he threw 5.0 innings of four hit, one run ball. Wark struck out four Hoya batters on the afternoon.
Youngrandt’s big hit came in the ninth inning, but he finished the day going 3-4 with three RBIs.
Livorsi also had a three hit game, going 3-5 with one RBI and one run scored.
Saint Louis returns to action on Tuesday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. with a game at Southeast Missouri State.
