ST. LOUIS – Saint Louis put four scorers in double-figures, led by Jordair Jett’s 16 points, as the Billikens cruised to an 82-58 victory over SIU Edwardsville Wednesday night at the Vadalabene Center.

Saint Louis improves to 2-0 on the season, while SIUE dips to 0-2. A crowd of 4,007 saw the action, the third largest attendance ever at the Vadalabene Center.

Jett’s 16 points came on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe. Mike McCall Jr. pumped in 14 points, all in the first half. Dwayne Evans chipped in 14 as well and dished out a career-high six assists.

Grandy Glaze, who opened the season with a double-double against Southeast Missouri, gathered a career-best 14 rebounds. He was one point shy of another double-double, finishing with nine points on 4-of-7 shooting.

The Billikens utilized a 16-0 run to take command in the opening half. SLU was up by two with 11:56 remaining in the opening half when Evans keyed the scoring spurt with four straight points. A Glaze tipin, followed by baskets by John Manning and Austin McBroom, gave the Billikens a double-digit lead they would not relinquish.

Later in the half, McBroom and McCall Jr. would bury 3-pointers as the Billikens led by 25, 46-21, at the break.

Saint Louis maintained its large advantage for the entire second half. Tanner Lancona registered his first collegiate points on a pair of free throws and later hit a 3-pointer.

The Billikens head to Carbondale, Ill., to face Southern Illinois Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7 p.m. A win would give Saint Louis consecutive non-conference road wins for the first time since 1997-98. Saturday’s game is one of three Billiken games this season that will not be televised, though it will be streamed online, for a fee, through SIU’s website
