ST. LOUIS – No. 19 Saint Louis received double-doubles from Dwayne Evans and Jordair Jett in a 77-57 triumph against Richmond Wednesday night at Chaifetz Arena.

Saint Louis remains in first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 19-2 overall record and a 6-0 mark in league play. It was the Billikens’ 13th victory in a row. Richmond, which came into tonight having won four in a row, dips to 14-7 overall and 4-2 in the league.

It was the second-straight double-double for Jett, who recorded his first-career double-double last Wednesday against Duquesne with 10 points and 11 assists. Tonight against the Spiders, he poured in 21 points on 8-of-15 shooting and collected a career-high 10 rebounds.

Evans registered 15 points and 10 rebounds for the 22nd double-double of his career. He was 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe.

Austin McBroom was 4-of-5 from the field en route to 12 points, while Rob Loe scored 10 points and dished out a team-high four assists. Loe also recorded two blocks.

The Billiken defense held Richmond to a season-low shooting mark from the field (31.7 percent). Conversely, the Billikens shot 51.9 percent from the floor, their best percentage since the second game of the season (.547 at SIUE).

It took the Billikens eight minutes to post a double-digit lead, which they maintained the rest of the way. A triple by Loe at the 5:34 mark put the Billikens up by 21. The Billikens briefly led by 24 late in the half and carried a 42-21 advantage into halftime.

It was more of the same in the second half. Only a few times did Richmond cut its deficit to less than 20, but SLU answered right away to keep a 20-point plus cushion. A traditional 3-point play by Loe at the 7:06 mark gave the Billikens their largest lead of the night at 68-41, and the Billikens coasted to the 20-point victory.

SLU returns to action Saturday afternoon, hosting George Mason in a 1:30 p.m. tipoff at Chaifetz Arena. The game will be televised on NBCSN.
