PHILADELPHIA - Saint Louis senior Nicole Kent scored early in the first half to give Saint Louis a 1-0 lead, but Saint Joseph's rallied for a 3-1 victory in Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey action Sunday in Philadelphia.
Playing in her final game in a Billiken uniform, Kent put the Billikens on top in the ninth minute with her team-high-tying fifth goal of the season.
The spirited Billikens (3-16, 0-7 A-10) kept Saint Joseph's off the scoreboard for the better part of the first half before the Hawks' Ellen Rowe scored in the 29th minute to tie the score. The teams went into halftime knotted 1-1.
The Hawks (6-11, 1-6 A-10) scored three minutes apart in the second half to record the 3-1 win. Theresa Testa tallied the game winner, while Meghan Githens recorded the insurance goal.
The Billikens, who did not win a game last year, end the season with three victories and were playing perhaps their best hockey late. Four of the final five games of the season were decided by two goals or less.
