The Saint Louis swim and dive team had a busy weekend, first visiting Evansville on January 26, and then participating in the Butler Invitational on January 27.
Billiken men were victorious at Evansville and placed 3 of 8 at Butler. The women’s team fell to Evansville, but they were able to grab third place out of 10 teams at Butler.
At the Evansville meet, freshman Claire Koh was able to grab the 1000 free with a time of 10:47.40.
Sophomore Natalie Daniel took first place in the 200 free (1:57.46).
Senior Isaiah Williams took two events on Saturday: 200 free (1:43.18) and 100 fly (51.50).
Junior Grant Streid also nabbed two events: 200 IM (1:55.77) and 100 free (47.01).
Senior Cal Higgins took home the 50 free with a time of 22.60.
To round out the heats at Evansville, senior Justin Mars placed first in the 100 breast (58.08).
At the Butler Invitational, Koh won the 1650 free with a time of 17:49.41.
Junior Savannah Nichols was victorious in the 200 fly (2:06.56), and she placed second in the 100 fly (57.65).
In the women’s 200 back, freshman Emily Smith took first with a time of 2:08.50, while senior Katie Schmude took second (2:08.90). Smith also placed second in the 100 back (57.93).
Daniel finished with the best time in the 100 free (53.43).
Streid took first place for the third time in two days when he finished on top in the 200 fly (1:51.60).
Williams also nabbed his third first place finish for the weekend in the 200 free (1:41.87).
Junior Keegan Paulson took first in the 200 back (1:52.74), and he placed second in the 100 back (50.61).
Mars grabbed second place in the 100 breast with a time of 57.63.
Junior Collin O’Brien placed second in the 200 IM (1:56.08).
Billiken swimmers will compete next in the Atlantic 10 Championship on February 20-23 in Geneva, Ohio.
