ST. LOUIS – The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its men’s basketball slate today, further solidifying the Billikens’ 2017-18 season schedule.
The Billikens’ 18-game A-10 slate features three home games against the A-10’s NCAA Tournament qualifiers from a season ago – Rhode Island (Jan. 9), VCU (Jan. 23) and Dayton (Jan. 27).
Previously, the Billikens’ nonconference schedule was released. Game times, additional television designations and the Billikens’ exhibition opponent on Nov. 4 will be released at a later date.

Here are some notes on the conference schedule:
-- The Billikens play home-and-away matchups against Dayton, Duquesne, La Salle, Richmond and St. Bonaventure.
-- For the second year in a row, A-10 play will begin prior to New Year’s as the Billikens open on the road on Saturday, Dec. 30, against La Salle.
-- The Billikens open A-10 play with a two-game roadswing and will play three of their first five away from Chaifetz Arena.
-- The A-10 home opener is slated for Saturday, Jan. 6, against Richmond. Rhode Island, last season’s A-10 tournament champion, visits Chaifetz Arena Tuesday, Jan. 9, in a game nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
-- SLU head coach Travis Ford returns to UMass, where he served as head coach from 2005-08, for the first time on Saturday, Jan. 20.
-- The Billikens host a pair of NCAA Tournament qualifiers in back-to-back games in late January, hosting VCU Tuesday, Jan. 23, and Dayton Saturday, Jan. 27. Both games will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
-- All Billiken home games in the months of February and March will be played on Saturdays.
-- SLU’s bye week falls the week of Feb. 12 prior to the last quarter of the league schedule.
-- The Billikens are on the road for three of their final five games. SLU concludes the regular season at Chaifetz Arena on Saturday, March 3, hosting St. Bonaventure.
