The Saint Louis University cross country squads traveled today to Virginia for the 2017 Atlantic 10 Cross Country Championships, which will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at Oatlands Plantation in Leesburg, Va.

Action gets underway at 9 a.m. (CT) Saturday with the men’s five-mile race. The women’s 5K starts at approximately 9:50 a.m. (CT).

The Billikens men’s team is led by Manuel de Backer, who finished fourth in last year’s A-10 Championship. Freshman Ben Naeger is expected to contend for A-10 Rookie of the Year honors, which goes to the top freshman finisher in the race.

On the women’s side, three different Billikens have led the team in SLU’s four meets. Courtney Link was the top Billiken finisher in the first two events of the year, while Anna Schmitz (Joe Piane Invitational) and Katie Anderson (Bradley Pink Classic) has also paced the team in meets this year.
