SETTING THE SCENE
-- Saint Louis heads to Hamilton, New York, for three matches to open the 2018 regular season.
-- All three tilts will be played at Colgate University. On Friday, SLU plays LIU Brooklyn at 1 p.m. (CT). The Billikens have an off day on Saturday, then meet Central Michigan Sunday morning at 10 a.m. (CT). Host Colgate is the Billikens' opponent on Monday in an 11 a.m. (CT) tilt.
ABOUT THE BILLIKENS
-- The Billikens are making strides under third-year head coach Danielle Baumgardner.
-- Last season, the Billikens' four wins were the most since the 2008 season, and they put together a three-game winning streak for the first time since 2004.
-- Saint Louis returns two of its top three scorers from a year ago. Carly Kissinger (5G, 4A) was named A-10 Player of the Week last September. Erica Bondoc (3G, 3A) scored a pair of goals in the A-10 match against Richmond, the first time a Billiken has scored multiple goals in a conference match since 2006.
-- Seven newcomers join the roster this season including goalie Sasha Sander, who figures to see the majority of time this season in the cage.
ABOUT LIU BROOKLYN
-- The Blackbirds finished 4-14 last year, but all four of their wins were in conference play.
-- LIU Brooklyn, in its third year as a program, returns 15 letter winners from last year including preseason All-Conference defender Haley Ballard.
-- Last season, the Billikens defeated LIU Brooklyn 5-1 at Sportport. Carly Kissinger scored twice and added an assist for the Billikens.
ABOUT CENTRAL MICHIGAN
-- The Chippewas are in their first season under new head coach Catherine Ostoich.
-- Central Michigan finished 0-18 a season ago.
-- Saint Louis edged the Chippewas 1-0 last season on a goal by Carly Kissinger.
-- The Raiders went 4-13 overall last year.
-- Iona MacKillop is the leading returning scorer with three goals and two assists last season.
-- The Billikens defeated Colgate 1-0 last season.
