A LOOK AT THE BILLIKENS
•Saint Louis is seeking its third consecutive 2-0 start to a season and third straight 2-0 home start.
•The Billikens are 5-7-1 vs. Southeastern Conference opponents. Vanderbilt is SLU’s first SEC foe since 2013, when the Billikens fell 2-0 to Mississippi at Hermann Stadium.
•Saint Louis enjoyed a successful start to its 22nd season of women’s soccer Friday night, collecting a 3-0 victory over Miami (Ohio) at Hermann Stadium. Click here for a recap that includes video highlights, photos and box score.
•Friday night’s triumph extended the Billikens’ home winning streak to 10 and their home unbeaten streak to 11. SLU has not lost at home since falling 2-1 to Saint Joseph’s Oct. 22, 2015.

•SLU is coming off a successful 2016 campaign that saw the Billikens post a 14-4-2 overall record and finish second in the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 7-1-2 league mark.
•Senior goalkeeper Mary Niehaus (0.82 GAA, nine shutouts) was selected to the Mid-Atlantic All-Region third team and the All-Conference first team in 2016.
•Junior forward/midfielder Maddie Pokorny (All-Conference second team) and sophomore midfielder Courtney Reimer (A-10 All-Rookie) also earned 2016 postseason honors.

A LOOK AT THE COMMODORES
•After splitting two exhibition games (W, Furman, 3-2; L, at Memphis, 3-1), Vanderbilt needed overtime to secure a 1-0 home victory over Tennessee Tech in its season opener Friday night. Click here for a game recap.
•The Commodores return 16 letter winners from their 2016 team that went 9-9-1 overall and 5-5-1 (sixth-place tie) in the SEC.
•Senior defender Cristina De Zeeuw earned second-team All-SEC honors in 2016, while sophomore midfielder Grace Jackson scored a team-high 16 points (5G, 6A) en route to a spot on the SEC All-Freshman team.
•Sophomore forward Hannon Eberts and redshirt-sophomore defender Jackie Welch netted five goals apiece to tie Jackson for the team lead.
