The Saint Louis University department of athletics has designated Saturday's men's basketball game against Dayton at Chaifetz Arena as the "Billiken Blue Out".

The game begins at 3 p.m. and will be nationally televised by ESPNU. The first 6,000 fans receive a "Billiken Blue Out" T-shirt, which may be picked up at one of three locations on the concourse of the arena. Billiken Mardi Gras beads will be handed out by members of the Saintsations, and a Build-A-Billiken (by Build-A-Bear Workshop) station will be located outside the SLU Fan Shop.

Prior to the game, SLU will host a pre-game reception with free food, soft drinks and games at 1:30 p.m. at Chaifetz Pavilion. The reception is open to all SLU students with a ticket to the game. In addition, all SLU alumni are invited to attend but must have a ticket and register AT THE ALUMNI RELATIONS WEBSITE or by calling the SLU alumni relations office at (314) 977-2250.

Also on Saturday, the Billiken Legends series resumes with the recognition of the 1993-94 and 1994-95 men's basketball squads at halftime. Those teams, led by head coach Charlie Spoonhour and popular Billiken Hall of Famers Erwin Claggett, Scott Highmark and H Waldman, advanced to the NCAA Tournament and created a college basketball craze in St. Louis. Several members of those teams, including Claggett and Highmark, are scheduled to appear.

Finally, all SLU staff are encouraged to wear blue to work Friday. Departments are also asked to take photos and send them to BillikenAthletics@gmail.com so they can be displayed on the video boards during Saturday's game versus Dayton.
