• Logan Schmitt threw 7.0 strong innings for Saint Louis, leading the Billikens to a 4-3 victory over St. Bonaventure in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Friday afternoon at Billiken Sports Center in St. Louis, Mo.
• The Billikens improved to 19-16 on the season, 6-4 in A-10 play, while St. Bonaventure dipped to 2-25, 1-9.
SCORING
• The Billikens scored three in the bottom of the fifth, with the help of two Bonnie errors and an RBI single off the bat of Matt Turino.
• St. Bona collected its first run of the game on a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
• Matt Happ provided an insurance run with an RBI single to right in the eighth inning.
• The Bonnies scored two in the top of the final frame.
BILLIKEN NOTABLES
• Schmitt picked up his team-leading sixth win of the season. He tossed 7.0 innings, allowing just one run on five hits and no walks and striking out six.
• Cameron Pferrer notched his sixth save on the year, throwing the final 2.0 innings.
• Happ finished 2-3 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.
• Cole Smith also went 2-3. He added a run scored.
