Doug McIlhagga

Doug McIlhagga was named interim senior associate director of athletics in September 2006. He will be responsible for managing 14 of the Billikens' 18 sport programs, athletic training and Billiken media relations for at least the remainder of the 2006-07 academic year.

McIlhagga was named SID in July 1991. Along with assistants Diana Koval, Chuck Yahng and Brian Kunderman, he is responsible for coordinating the media relations and public relations for the Billikens' 18 varsity sports.

McIlhagga is a graduate of the Syracuse University Newhouse School of Public Communications and holds a bachelor of science degree in television/radio. He earned a master's degree in sports management from the U.S. Sports Academy. The College Sports Information Directors of America awarded the Billikens' soccer media guide top honors in its region nine times. The 2002 soccer guide was ranked best in the nation in national competition.

McIlhagga spent 14 years working in radio as a sports director in central New York, south central Missouri and eastern Iowa. His other experience includes sports marketing and special event management. McIlhagga and his wife, Jackie, reside in St. Peters, Mo.
