ST. LOUIS - Anna Larson was the top finisher for Saint Louis on the first day of Washington (Mo.) University's Thanksgiving Invitational on Saturday in St. Louis, Mo. She captured the team's lone first-place finish, on the one-meter board (411.60), to help the SLU women achieve second place out of nine teams with 504 points at the end of day one. The Billiken men, who are competing against eight teams, finished the first day of the meet in fourth place with 367 points.

Laura Robertson placed among the top 10 in three events to pace all SLU competitors. She came in second in the 200 IM (2:12.16) and the 200 breast (2:26.99), and fourth in the 100 breast (1:10.00). Four other Billikens registered two top-10 finishes apiece. Stephen Sheridan placed fifth in the 50 (22.07) and 100 (48.61) free races, while Michael Dahle touched second in the 200 back (1:55.64) and third in the 200 fly (1:57.80). Taylor Streid placed second in the 100 fly (59.45) and third in the 100 back (1:02.09), while Jordan Hagar finished second in the 100 free (55.61) and fourth in the 50 free (25.30).

Chad Carmichael had one of the top performances for the men's team with a second-place effort of 409.05 in the three-meter diving event. Saint Louis' women's relays fared well at the meet, turning in a second-place performance in the 400 medley (4:08.88) and a third-place finish in the 400 free (3:46.46).

 

 

Katie Ising, Katie Kolster and Hannah Tautz placed fifth in the 200 back (2:14.24), 500 free (5:25.10) and one-meter diving (377.70), respectively. Emily Kopec rounded out the top-10 finishers for the women's team with a sixth-place performance in the 200 free (2:01.57).

Mike Kelly came in fifth in the 200 free (1:48.03), while Spencer Litzau and Will Butzke touched sixth in the 500 free (4:55.24) and 100 fly (53.41), respectively. Finishing eighth for SLU was Brian Brasser in the 100 breast (1:02.19), Marco Navarro in the 200 IM (2:04.68) and the 400 medley relay (3:43.81). The men's 400 free relay placed fourth in 3:15.24.
