What is your favorite childhood memory? The first time I finished the 400 IM in a long-course meter pool. I was 10 years old.

What do you consider to be the best thing you've done to help another person? Working at the DU Bridge project, helping of African refugees in Denver

What person outside the sports world do you admire most, and why? My father, because he has more character than anyone I've ever known

What is the most significant way you have changed since coming to SLU? I have truly begun to want to learn more in the classes that I have been taking.

Do you think you could ever be a coach, and why or why not? Yes, I have been coaching a small summer team in Colorado, and I have really enjoyed the experience.

 

 

What is your most cherished material possession, and why? My cell phone

What is the most important thing you've learned from athletic competition? Everyone has bad days

What is one thing about you that people would be surprised to discover? I actually enjoy ancient Greek philosophy.

What has been your most memorable vacation? A family vacation to Costa Rica

When someone is visiting your hometown, what is something everyone should see? The mountains

Best practical joke you have pulled (or had pulled on you)? Every day for about four months, I went into my neighbor's room and set his clock forward just one minute. The whole time he thought his clock was broken.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met? Stan Musial. He is a friend of my grandmother's.

What sporting event do you most want to see in person? NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four

If you could go back in time, what sporting event would you like to see happen again? The Roman Gladiators competing

What famous person are you tired of hearing and reading about? Michael Phelps

What skill do you wish you possessed? The ability to read minds

What is your favorite thing your coach always says? "It has come to my attention that you are always last." - from the movie "Stripes"

What was your summer job in high school? Lifeguarding

What is the toughest thing about being a college student-athlete? The classes

What is something you have to do before every meet? Meditate

What is your greatest achievement that has nothing to do with your sport? Hiking a couple of 14ers this summer

What is the most interesting thing you did over the summer? I went backpacking in the Grand Tetons for four days by myself.

Who is the teammate that is most like your coach and why? Eric Anderson

What do you want to do after you graduate? Teach philosophy

Where do you hope to be and what do you hope to be doing in 10 years? Doing anything in Colorado

What is something you just can't get enough of? Cream soda and pizza

If you could swim with or against anyone (living or dead), who would it be? Ryan Lochte
