Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Atlantic 10 Championship
May 2, 2007 The Saint Louis University outdoor track and field teams close out the 2007 season at the Atlantic 10 Conference championships in Charlotte, N.C. The meet will be held May 5-6 at the Irwin Belk Track and Field Center on Charlotte's campus. "Our team is looking forward to competing at the A-10 championships in Charlotte, N.C., as this will be our first time participating as a team in the conference meet," head track and field coach Mike Nelson said. " We have expanded our track and field program to cover every running event and three field events. This will give us the best opportunity to score as many points as possible at the meet. Overall, we are laying the ground work for future success in our cross country and track and field programs." The Billikens tuned up for the A-10 Championship with a strong showing last week at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill., topped by freshman Brigette Schutzman's first-place finish in the 1,500. SLU will send 14 women's participants and 13 on the men's side to Charlotte.
