ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis senior Mary Moloney earned a spot on the Atlantic 10 Conference Cross Country All-Academic Team. It is the first such honor for a Billiken since SLU joined the A-10 in 2005.

"Mary being named to the All-Academic Team is quite an honor for her and our program," SLU cross country and track and field head coach Jon Bell said. "We strive to be the best at everything we do, and this recognition of Mary's academics is a testament to that philosophy. Mary has worked hard in the classroom and is quite deserving of these types of accolades."

Moloney, a business major helped the cross country team to a sixth-place finish at the A-10 Championship, its best finish ever in the event. She led the Billikens with a time of 18:47.5, which placed second overall. Earlier in the year, she led her teammates across the line at the Bradley Classic, the Cowboy Jamboree and the National Catholic Championships.

Last season, SLU put five student-athletes on the All-Academic Team in indoor track and field. Three Bills landed on the All-Academic squad for outdoor track and field.

Moloney and the Billikens begin the indoor track and field campaign on Dec. 8 when they travel to a meet at Illinois State.
