Recap |  Box Score

Saint Louis head coach Rick Majerus
"Temple played a good game, they are a very good team and are exceptionally talented. You have to give them credit. I thought our guys fought hard."

Saint Louis guard Kevin Lisch
"We played hard, but we made some mistakes down the stretch and didn't get up some shots. But we'll come back and learn from it."

On final possession in overtime... "We had a play for Luke where he would get a jump shot, but I they switched it. So Tommie penetrated, then kicked it out to me, and over-and-back."

Temple head coach Fran Dunphy
On road win... "We only did that one time last year. I think anytime you can win - especially with the way the league is - on the road is a great help to your season. We came into the game thinking it was going to be hard fought, and it was. They are a terrific defensive basketball team and they gave us everything we could handle. I hope our guys did a good job on the defensive end when we watch film."

On quality defense as of late... "Maybe it's just our time and we caught up to pay attention to the details that it takes. I guess guys are buying into it more. I can't answer it, but I'm happy that we are playing pretty good defense. Hopefully we can continue. We are going to play some pretty good offensive basketball teams throughout the year so we are going to need to be as solid as we can on the defense end."

On Lisch/Christmas matchup... "First of all, Christmas is a tremendous guy. He has great respect for everybody he plays, and the game as well. I think it is two really good athletes who want to win and have a great desire to be the best player they can be. For me, it was just fun to watch. We have a great respect for Lisch."
