Saint Louis University men's basketball signee Cody Ellis scored 16 points and had a team-high eight rebounds as Australia defeated Argentina 76-65 on July 7, 2009, at the FIBA U-19 World Basketball Championships in New Zealand.

Ellis hit 5-of-9 shots and also blocked a shot as the Emus improved to 5-0 at the tournament. Fellow Billiken recruit Christian Salecich added five points, two steals and one assist. Australia takes on Croatia in a battle of unbeaten teams to decide first place in Group F. The Emus have clinched a spot in the quarterfinals, which begin on Friday, July 10.
