Billikens to Make 13 TV Appearances, Including Five National Telecasts

The Saint Louis University department of athletics today announced that at least 13 Billiken men's basketball games will be available to fans in the St. Louis television market. The Billikens are scheduled for five appearances on national television, including four games on CBS College Sports and one on FSN Midwest. Locally, CW11/KPLR will televise five games, and Charter Communications (CCIN) will broadcast three regular season games. "We are pleased with the opportunity to continue our local partnership with CW11/KPLR and Charter Communications to air eight games in the area," SLU director of athletics Chris May said. "We are thrilled to show off our new home in Chaifetz Arena on six home game broadcasts. In addition, we have always strived to air as many road contests as possible, and bringing back seven road games to the St. Louis area was important to our fans." The Billikens first game on CW11/KPLR this season will be the Boston College tilt on Saturday, Nov. 22. Also on CW11/KPLR will be Saturday, Jan. 17, against George Washington, at Richmond on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Rhode Island on Saturday, Feb. 14, and a home game versus Dayton on Saturday, Feb. 21. CCIN will air the game at Southern Illinois on Tuesday, Dec. 2, and home games against Duquesne on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and Charlotte on Wed., Feb. 11. The Billikens make the first of four national appearances on CBS College Sports with their A-10 opener at Xavier on Thursday, Jan. 8. Road games at Temple on Thursday, Jan. 22, and at Dayton, Thursday, Jan. 29 will also air. The game against Saint Joseph's on Wednesday, Feb. 18, will be broadcast on CBS College Sports. FSN Midwest will televise the Billikens' game at Nebraska on Tuesday, Nov. 25. "It is a pleasure to have Billiken basketball back on KPLR for a third consecutive season," CW11/KPLR general manager Spencer Koch said. "We feel this is a great combination, and we are excited to have the opportunity to work with such a fine local institution as Saint Louis University. With the opening of Chaifetz Arena and coach Rick Majerus, this should be an exciting season to watch."
