Senior back Calum Angus (Portsmouth, England), senior midfielder Dado Hamzagic (St. Louis, Mo./Mehlville) and senior midfielder Kyle Patterson (Birmingham, England) were among the preseason All-Conference selections. In addition, newcomers Jonas Reiter (Redondo, Calif./Pateadores/South Torrence HS) and Keegan Smith (Dallas, Texas/Solar SC/J.J. Pearce HS) were selected for the All-Rookie Team. He was also named first-team All-Mid-Atlantic Region and a CollegeSoccerNews.com third-team All-American. Including his two goals last year, Angus has registered 17 points (7G, 3A) in his career. He has earned All-Conference plaudits each year, starting with honorable mention honors his freshman year, second-team accolades in 2006 and first-team recognition last year. Hamzagic was named first-team All-Region and first-team All-Conference last season after finishing third on the team in scoring with 14 points (5G, 4A). He earned a spot on TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Season, and was recognized on CollegeSoccerNews.com's National Team of the Week after scoring a goal against Central Florida. In the regular-season finale against Charlotte, Hamzagic scored twice to help the Billikens clinch the regular-season league title. He enters his final season as a Billiken with 37 career points (12G, 13A). Patterson, who picked up first-team All-Region honors and was named A-10 Offensive Player of the Year last season, netted a team-high 24 points (10G, 4A) to finish third in the league in 2007. The three-time A-10 Player of the Week registered 14 points (6G, 2A) in conference games only, including a natural hat trick against Saint Joseph's and two-point efforts against George Washington, Temple and Charlotte. He leads all current Billikens with 44 career points (17G, 10A). Reiter is currently a starting forward for a Pateadores Soccer Club squad that is participating in the U-18 US National Development Academy. He was the offensive MVP at South Torrence High School his junior year and picked up first-team All-League honors and All-Area accolades from the Daily Breeze. Smith has played with Solar SC in Dallas since 2003. In addition, he was a varsity starter all four year at J.J. Pearce High School. An Olympic Development Program participant, he has played on various international tours, including championship appearances in Holland and Belgium in 2005.
