Hamzagic Tabbed A-10 Rookie of the Week

Sept. 6, 2005

St. Louis - The Atlantic 10 Conference selected Saint Louis Billikens midfielder Dado Hamzagic (St. Louis, Mo. / Mehlville) as its Rookie of the Week for the period ending Sept. 4. After his first two collegiate games, Hamzagic leads the Bills in scoring with five points (2G, 1A).

"Dado has gotten off to a good start in terms of the points, but his capabilities are beyond even what he's shown so far," Billikens head coach Dan Donigan said. "He is learning to deal with the attention that a high profile player receives from defenders throughout a game. As he continues to adjust to the college game, he should only be more productive."

Hamzagic scored twice on his only two shots in the Billikens' season-opening 3-0 triumph over UMKC on Thu., Sept. 1. The Bills dropped a 3-1 decision to No. 3 Duke on Sat., Sept. 3, as Hamzagic assisted on the Bills' lone goal.

Saint Louis (1-1-0) tackles defending national champion and consensus No. 1 Indiana (2-0-0) on Fri., Sept. 9, at Notre Dame's Mike Berticelli Memorial Tournament. Kickoff is 5 p.m. (CT). The Bills face the 17th-ranked Fighting Irish (1-1-0) on Sun., Sept. 11, in a 2 p.m. (CT) start.
