ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis senior forward Jimmy Holmes (St. Louis, Mo./Priory) has been lost for the season after suffering a right knee injury in the first half of Saturday's 3-1 win against Loyola Chicago at Toyota Park.

Holmes will apply for a medical hardship that could grant him an additional year of competition. Following surgery, recovery time for Holmes' injury is estimated at five to seven months.

"Losing Jimmy is definitely a blow to our attack," Billikens head coach Dan Donigan said. "At the same time, it is an opportunity for other players to step in and prove their value and worth to the program. You never want to see this happen to anyone, but Jimmy has displayed great motivation and I'm confident he will be ready for whatever lies ahead."

Holmes appeared in each of SLU's first four games this season and drew one start. In his career, he has played in 40 games with 15 starts. Holmes has accumulated 22 career points (9G, 4A) and had his best season in 2007 with 13 points (6G, 1A).
