Eleven Billikens Named to NFHCA National Academic Squad
March 7, 2006 St. Louis - Eleven Saint Louis field hockey players were selected to the 2005 National Field Hockey Coaches Association's (NFHCA) 2005 Division I National Academic Squad. The NFHCA's National Academic Squad program recognizes those collegiate student-athletes who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 through the first semester of the 2005-06 academic year. SLU also picked up the 2005 NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award after the Billikens achieved a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2005-06 academic season. "This was a goal for the team at the beginning of the year, and I am proud of them for attaining it," assistant coach Katie Kanara said. "This just adds to the success that the team had on the field and proves they worked hard not only on the field but in the classroom as well." The following Billikens were chosen for the NFHCA's National Academic Squad:
