Saint Louis Finishes Fourth at Louisville's 7v7 Tourney
April 23, 2005 Louisville, Ky. - The Saint Louis University field hockey team participated in the Louisville 7v7 Tourney at Trager Stadium on the Redbirds' campus. The tournament field included Ball State, EPTC (Midwest extension of the U.S. National team), Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Northwestern, Ohio, Saint Louis and SMS. Saint Louis finished fourth in their pool which included Louisville, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio and SLU. The round of games follows: vs. Louisville, won 1-0 vs. Indiana, lost 3-0 vs. Iowa, tied 1-1 vs. Ohio, lost 3-0 After the fourth game, Saint Louis crossed over to other bracket to face Ball State winning 3-0. "Ashlea Hibshman and Carin Boone stood out in their aggressive play for the day," said head coach Maria Whitehead. "Marcie (assistant coach Boyer) and I were pleased with the overall performance today, despite the two losses. We saw continued growth from our team over this entire spring season. Julie (Moeckel) and Amy (Wasserman) split time in goal for us and both did well.
"We can use the experience from our final win over Ball State as momentum to carry us into the fall 2005 Atlantic 10 season."
