Molly Boyne Earns Second-Team All-Conference Honors

Nov. 6, 2008

Junior midfielder Molly Boyne (Escondido, Calif. / San Pasqual) was named second-team All-Atlantic 10 Conference field hockey in voting conducted among the conference's head coaches. Last season, she was an honorable mention All-Conference pick.

"Molly gave a consistent effort and played hard in every game," head coach Marcie Boyer said. "Even though our season did not turn out as well as we would have liked, it was nice that the A-10 coaches recognized her steady play."

Despite missing two games due to injury, Boyne tied for second on the team with three goals and was third on the squad with seven points. She scored the first goal in a 2-1 victory over Ball State and found the back of the cage in the next game versus Northwestern. Boyne also notched a tally in the victory over Bellarmine. She assisted on a goal late in the La Salle game that set the stage for a frantic Billiken comeback attempt in the waning moments.
