Women's Golf 14th after Day One at Birmingham Southern

BESSEMER, Ala. - Saint Louis women's golf opened its spring season at the Ann Rhoads Birmingham Southern Shootout Monday afternoon and hold 14th place heading into Tuesday's final round. Freshman Christa Cloutier was the Billikens' top performer on Monday with an 81 to sit in a tie for 25th place among the 92 golfers in the field.

In cold, wet conditions at Bent Brook Golf Course Monday, sophomore Jenny Madras posted an 89 as she was good off the tee but struggled on the green. Freshman Caitlin Cummings shot 92, and Keely Fitzgerald posted a 95 to round out the Billiken scoring. Sophomore Kaela Burke finished strong in her final nine holes to card a 98 for the day.

Play concludes with a single round on Tuesday.
