Madras Drives Golfers to 13th Place

Jacksonville Beach, Fla. - Sophomore Jenny Madras posted a two-round score of 161 to finish tied for 16th overall and lead Saint Louis women's golf to a 13th-place finish in the 17-team field at the North/South Women's Collegiate hosted by Butler at Jacksonville Beach. Jacksonville University claimed the tournament's team title, while Stephanie Hicks of Longwood University took individual medallist honors.

For the Billikens, Madras opened the event with a 78 on Monday and continued her steady play with an 83 on Tuesday. Her first-round 78 was the team's only score in the 70s, however. Freshman Christa Cloutier finished 51st with rounds of 82 and 90. Freshman Caitlyn Cummings was consistent over the two days, carding a 91 on Monday and a 94 on Tuesday to take 71st. Sophomore Kaela Burke's rounds of 92 and 97 were good for 78th. Senior Amber Dodman rounded out the team with scores of 104 and 97 for 87th place.

The Billikens finished seven strokes ahead of IPFW and 10 in front of IUPUI in the team standings. Host Butler took second place in the tournament.

Saint Louis is back in action on Fri., Mar. 31, with a dual match against Evanville at Oak Meadow.
