ST. LOUIS - Saint Louis seniors-to-be Susan Frederickson, Ashley Hayes, Kristen Sapienza, Sally Sinclair and Kelly Waeckerle competed for the JB Marine women's soccer team that recently captured the United States Adult Soccer Association U23 Region II championship in Oak Forest, Ill.

JB Marine, which won its second consecutive Regional Cup, advances to the USASA National Cup scheduled for July 24-26 at the Seminole County Sports Training Center in Sanford, Fla. Hayes, Sapienza and Sinclair were members of last year's regional champions but did not compete in the National Cup because they already had reported to SLU's preseason training camp.

The Billiken quintet helped JB Marine post a 3-0-1 record in regional play. JB Marine defeated ELA Elite (Ill.) 4-0, FC Milwaukee 1-0 and Nebraska Select U23 4-2 before battling Cincinnati United Premier to a scoreless tie. Hayes tallied two goals and one assist during the tournament, Frederickson collected one goal and two assists and Waeckerle scored one goal.
