Former Billiken standout Christy Ernst is in her second season as a member of the Billiken coaching staff as the graduate manager.
As a senior, Ernst helped guide the Bills to their best season in program history in 2007. SLU, which advanced to the Atlantic 10 Championship title game during its first appearance in the tournament, finished with a school-record 29 wins that season. The four-year starter at second base graduated as the school-record holder for most times hit by a pitch in a season and in a career.
Ernst ranks among the program's top 10 in career batting average (.293), slugging percentage (.380), on-base percentage (.378), games played (193), at bats (482), runs scored (69), hits (141), doubles (27), RBIs (51), total bases (183), walks (42), sacrifice bunts (18) and stolen base attempts (36). In 2007, she worked her way into SLU's single-season top 10 with a .336 average, a team-high .446 on-base percentage, 10 doubles and 22 stolen base attempts.
The Lake St. Louis, Mo., native graduated from SLU with a bachelor's degree in sociology in 2007 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2008. Ernst, who is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, is pursuing a master's degree in health administration at SLU.
